This showcase features Advanced Storytelling students telling their stories from their virtual capstones in front of a live audience. While our virtual capstones were great, there’s nothing quite like telling a story live and in-person. Campfire is a warm, supportive space where we can be moved by story and support our peers as they step on stage. If you are interested in being a storyteller, find out more about taking Intro to Storytelling or Advanced Storytelling.
Storytellers
Cindy Miller
Storyteller
Cynthia Ann Miller was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She made her living working in industrial environments and is now retired. She has a lifelong love of literature. As important as all this is, it is not as important as knowing that at this very moment–”It’s a Perfect Day for Fishing.” So, grab a pole and come along. She’ll provide the bait.
Grace Luttrell Pettit
Storyteller
Grace Luttrell Pettit grew up in St. Louis and after living in New Orleans made the conscious choice to move back to her hometown, nurturing and deepening her roots in family and community. Armed with a graphic communications degree, Grace found success and financial security in the corporate world. Over time Grace questioned her path and its numbing effect on her spirit and creativity. At Steven’s invitation, Grace decided to take the storytelling class which coincided with her quest to be authentic, true, and honest in the world. Currently, Grace is designing how she wants to show up in the world by leaving her corporate job, growing her freelance business as well as working with children in a trauma-informed yoga studio. She is excited about her journey, embracing the mystery and trusting her path as it unfolds into her future.
Katie Engelmeyer
Storyteller
Katie Engelmeyer grew up in the small-ish town of Quincy, IL. They came to STL to go to school at Washington University, where they received a Bachelor of Arts in architecture with a second major in archaeology. After graduating, they stayed in STL to fully absorb all the city had to offer, and now, they serve the local arts community as the Visual and Literary Arts Coordinator at the Kranzberg Arts Foundation. When the time is right, they hope to go to grad school to study art history and perhaps preservation to help maintain the physical ties that bind us to those who lived before us.
