We are consistently working towards a more accessible organization and have put together a few options for you if money is a barrier to getting involved.
We have to make money to continue to exist. It’s a reality Campfire has to navigate. We need funds to continue to make our Fellows program free, pay our local faculty and trainers, and pay the talented creatives who help us get the word out about our work. We also know that money is a barrier for many, and we want to do something about that.
To live by Campfire’s value of accessibility, we employ a fair pay policy for our classes. We only ask that you use these options if you need to. We offer this policy to enable people to take a class that would not have the opportunity without assistance, not to make the financial burden easier for those who can carry it.
Here are the options available:
Deposit
If you are paying for a class far before the class gets started, we can setup a 50% deposit so you
can reserve your seat. Then you pay the remainder of the cost before the first class. This gives
potential students time to save up without having to worry about losing their seat in the class.
Splitting Payments
If you can’t pay full price for a class, we can potentially split the cost into multiple payments.
Paying half up front and half before our last class is the most common structure.
Sponsorship
If your employer, a community organization you belong to, or other group wants to cover your
cost, we can work with them to get the cost taken care of.
We also have options that we can use as budget and class registration allow:
Negotiated Price
If the price is just out of reach, let us know and we can see what’s within reason for a change in
price on an individual basis.
Barter
There are other ways to find mutual value beyond money. If you have a skill, talent, or something
else that you could contribute to Campfire, let us know. We can trade training in storytelling and
public speaking for your skill!
If you want to avail yourself of any of these options or have questions, please email hello@cmpfr.com.
